This was a short flight on the heavily travelled Las Vegas to Los Angeles corridor. With Southwest being the largest carrier out of LAS, they had the most options and I chose their afternoon rotation which operates LAS-LAX-OAK-GEG. Unfortunately, it got off to a bad start as the incoming flight from PHX and TPA was delayed by an hour but I was notified before I made it to the airport so I could spend a little more time on the strip.

I got to the airport about an hour before the scheduled departure as I was only travelling with cabin bags and I could walk straight through security. LAS terminal 1 security wasn't too busy at 3 pm so I made it through quickly. The Southwest terminal is not as glamorous as the strip, except for a few slot machines, but it was good enough for a 30-minute wait for boarding. It also had good views of both runways, and I even managed to catch the infamous JANET 737-600 landing from Area 51.

Eventually, after what became a 1-hour, 20-minute delay, we boarded the plane and in typical WN fashion overtook a few planes on the way to the runway. Takeoff was a little bumpy as is custom when flying out of the Las Vegas valley but after that, the flight was mostly uneventful. The crew managed to pull off a snack and drink service in the 40 minutes of flight time and we landed at LAX around an hour behind schedule. Again the taxi to terminal 1 was made in record time, and I was in a cab 10 minutes after disembarking.

I enjoyed my Southwest experience and would love to try them on a longer flight. I would definitely fly them if given a chance, especially if I have checked bags.

Thanks for reading/watching and I would love to hear any feedback you have!
