Good day everyone,
Back in 2021, I flew from Russia to Japan under a special student scheme. This video is the first part of my Journey from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Sapporo. This is my first outbound leg from the Island of Sakhalin to the port city of Vladivostok. This flight was special in the sense that it took me approximately 1 hour just to check in, as a result of necessary covid tests and visas due to my international transfer to Tokyo Narita the next day, bearing in mind that both flights were under the same ticket number.
The weather while leaving Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was gradually worsening, with mild gusts and light showers present during the takeoff roll. We climbed out of Runway 01 at approx 14:50, heading towards the north and climbing over the city before turning down south and crossing the Tatar straight and Sea of Japan. The approach into Vladivostok was relatively turbulent due to the seasonal weather patterns. The final stages of the approach were very unstable, nevertheless, we made a firm landing on runway 25L at Knevichi airport at approx 15:30. Weather at Vladivostok was relatively windy, with low chance of showers but light overcast.
In all, the flight was relatively normal, service was consistent with the usual accompaniment of drinks and sandwiches, which I did not take due to COVID precautions as I was determined to test covid negative at Narita the next day. I didn't have to collect my luggage as it was checked in for the next flight to Narita, which would take place the next day at approximately 11:00am.
