Yes I'm here!
I've been flying my tail off, but most of the trips are pretty similar to the ones I've posted before. Also, I have a letter in to our Public Relations department asking if it is
OK to post these types of trip reports. Because of the upcoming merger, there was a memo put out not long ago cautioning us all against talking with the media on 'sensitive' subjects, and to direct all media requests to them. Now I don't think anything I've posted here is 'sensitive' or derogatory in any way, but my flying career comes before my writing career, so I'll have to wait a few days for an answer.
OK, I did have a wild day last week where one
LAS-
DEN leg included a drunk passenger that I'd asked not to be boarded, who was boarded anyway and subsequently had to be removed. Then after pushback the flight attendants discovered two passengers who thought they were on a
LAX flight, causing us to return to the gate, at which time the jetway decided to break down causing additional delay until the county could be called to fix it. Then in the flare for landing at
DEN runway 16L (at about 30ft above the ground) we had a bird strike somewhere under the nose. The mechanics checked it out and couldn't find any marks so they signed it off. Then on pushback we got a warning that the #2 autopilot was inop, causing us to wait on the ramp while we called maintenance who told us which circuit breakers to pull and reset to restore the system. But aside from that, the other three legs of the day were quite peaceful.
I do enjoy writing the TRs, and should have another one up in the not-to-distant future.
