I'm not much of a writer, so I'll let pictures do the work in capturing the essence of the oh so thrilling legacy transcon experience

CO runs a pretty extensive operation out of gritty Newark, NJ- a mere 5 miles from NYC

Seeing how it was New Years, people were heading everywhere from Grand Rapids to Tel Aviv. During my uneventful wait in line, I had the pleasure of nearly being annoyed to death by a lady and her pet parrots.

The terminal was fairly modern and made good use of natural light. One interesting observation I made was that a unusual amount of the workers seemed to be Indian

Excellent trip report great pictures, we were in NY almost around the time but missed each other, and you flew a great airline like CO while I got stuck with the Evil (but working) Empire AA...

Something different here, but all together still a good report for me  Smile
I really enjoyed see your complimentary pics from NYC. You've some great perspectives.

Service on CO seems pretty poor to me, especially for such a longer flight.

You should see what AA/UA would serve on an equivalent flight. You will alter your above statement.

A meal, several rounds of drinks, a movie. On a 5-6 hour flight. For a US domestic flight, not so bad, actually.

Good pictures! You're right, not much with words but the story tells enough for me! Pics do tell a thousand words!

Seems like a lot of CO trips here, I really really oughta try them on a good long domestic trio!

Very nice report. Liked the pictures alot.

The pics of NY remind me of being home.


I do find the seats on the CO 753 pretty uncomfortable in coach.

Hi MD90Fan,

Neat pics! Did you have any trouble taking photographs at EWR? I hear they can be pretty tough.

Also, the photograph of the LA skyline...where was that taken from? It looks like either you're on top of a building under construction or beside a train/Metro station. It's a cool view! I really like the skyline of LA and I'd love to get a similar shot when I'm back there.

CO is really good on Transon in First as well. So much food to choice from up there with app and icecream sundai with so many topping! It gets even better next year when they install 36 channels of LiveTv from Noise to Tail on all 737-700, 800, 900, 900ERS and 757-300!!!

Okay, I stick up for the cheeseburgers all the time, and will defend them until their timely end, but YOU, sir, go WAY too far. You can down SEVERAL of them? Oh boy. I had two at a time once.... I nearly couldn't finish the second one.

I agree with the above poster- let's have some tomatoes and pickles or something! They could be packaged separately, so that if you didn't care for them, you weren't stuck trying to pick them out of the cheese.


I actually find the seats on the 757-324s to be pretty nice. Now, the ex-ATA birds aren't so hot, as I recall. But I like the CO 753 seat better than all of their other seats, which I find to be horribly uncomfortable for longer flights. Being on a 737-800 or 757-200 for 7 hours (ANC-IAH) is very unpleasant- those seats feel like cardboard after just one hour. But on the 753, I don't get sore spots on my backside!
