Thanks for this great report. Nice way to finish your travels indeed. Athens looks great, I would love to visit it sometime. And the service on SK looks excellent, as usual.

Hey there Robert and thanks for the reply.   Yes add Athens to your list you will love it .

Quoting roberts87 (Reply 47):
Do you know if LH/LX Business Class passengers have acces to that lounge too, or is it reserved for A3 passengers and *Gold?

Just looked at the LH website lounge info and they state with a Business Class ticket you can use LH and A3 lounge which they call ''partner lounge''. Hope this helps.

Quoting roberts87 (Reply 47):
Young? You sure you were flying on SK?

Haha depends on what you count as young   For me 30-35 is young lol..

Quoting 717Flyer (Reply 48):
Finnair used to have a Finnish slogan, "Illaksi kotiin", which when translated to English converts to "bringing you home for the night". Nowadays this slogan no longer applies a) because AY has ended up serving everyone but us Finns and b) in many cases their aircraft overnight at European airports. So, as I read the headline of your report (and specially having finished this great report) I understood that it is SAS that brings everyone home and once again you gave me a reminder of why they are my preferred choice. Thanks!

Interesting info and thanks . Never knew this AY slogan .

Quoting 717Flyer (Reply 48):
The dynamic duo.

Yes reminds me of Batman , used to love that series.

Quoting 717Flyer (Reply 48):
MD-82, LN-RMO.

Arr great thanks alot for that .

Both of your inflight meals looked absolutely delicious!

Hi Philip,

I had read this when it was first posted and I am glad to able to comment on it now.

Welcome to my final part of my one months travel

That also saw you take a TK J flight a day before I took mine on Etihad (in Y)

Quoting OA260 (Thread starter):

Greek curry

I have no idea how this place could survive with all that lovely Greek food to eat!!

Quoting OA260 (Thread starter):
Greek Souvlaki , delicious and cheap at only EUR1.90

A Greek colleague at work told me that Greek Souvlaki's are eaten with fries...If only they sold them this way here too!!

Quoting OA260 (Thread starter):
Two days before I was leaving my Aunts decided to make me my favourite cakes Melomakarona. Same as the ones above from the bakery but as you expect alot better homemade.

Hmm should go to the Danforth to see if they sell these. They look yummy!!

Quoting OA260 (Reply 2):
Greek feta and spinach pies and tasted lovely .

All this is making me crave Greek food. Stop!! lol Glad you didn't stuff yourself just because it was free lol.

Quoting OA260 (Thread starter):
My choice to fly home was to be SAS. I love their MD80s and their times from ATH would be ideal for me also. I love the SK product and so there really was no other way to fly back to Ireland .
Quoting OA260 (Reply 1):
The check in agent was very friendly and invited me to relax in the Goldair Lounge
Quoting OA260 (Reply 3):

I was welcomed onboard by a smiling male FA .
Quoting OA260 (Reply 3):
Lovely interior in true SAS style :

I really do love these SK sayings on their doors/catering items etc...
Quoting OA260 (Reply 4):
Finally I was offered a rather large Baileys
Quoting OA260 (Reply 5):

Soon it was time to leave the SK lounge
Quoting OA260 (Reply 6):
A young rather good looking male FA welcomed me onboard .
Quoting OA260 (Reply 6):
Then a rather pleasant and nice tasting meal :

Wow, such positive things to hear about SAS! I am glad you thoroughly enjoyed your flights with them including that lovely Greek Mousaka!! Those sachets are really cool. As you said lovely interiors in true SAS style, both inside and outside the aircraft.

I fear I will repeat myself , outstanding report.
Nothing beats the homemade melomacarona ( in Egypt and Lebanon they are called them finikia, because it has the shape of a date, which is the fruit the Virgin Mary ate in her escape to Egypt)
BTW , no pictures of MEA????????

Oh never knew they had that in Egypt/Lebanon. The Lebanese are master cake makers so I must try those sometime.
