Escape From The Cold!B6 SYR-MCO On Redsox Plane

Fri Jun 21, 2013 3:35 pm

In November my mom got a list of conferences that she had to go to for work, and she decided that we would go to Orlando at the beginning of march.. It was a perfect time to go because after a really long winter we got to escape the cold and go to Florida and once you come back its spring!! On the day of the flight, i tracked my flight earlier in the day and found out we would be going on the redsox plane (N605JB) i have wanted to go on the jets plane for a while but it was still pretty cool to go on the redsox plane.

Monday March 4,2013
Jetblue Flight#661
Airbus A320
Scheduled Departure 7:10PM
Actual Departure 7:36PM
Scheduled Arrival 9:53PM
Actual Arrival 9:50PM
Flight Time- 2 hours 14 minutes

We got to the airport around 5pm for the 7:10pm departure to MCO. The airport was actually very busy for SYR. B6 had our flight to MCO and flight 75 headed to JFK before us from the same gate, AWE had a flight to CLT, BOS and DCA and AA had a flight to ORD. So the security line was actually kind of long but jetblue has extra speed if you purchase extra legroom to your flight which we did and this was new at SYR from the last time i had flown to JFK 1 month earlier so it was good that B6 added that, it will be really good for the peak time at SYR which is 5:30-7:30AM every airline has at least one flight most have more then two.

The SYR airport is being redone and is done now and its done now but in march it wasn't so it was kind of laid out differently the check in counter had been moved for construction and had recently been moved back to its original spot.

The B6 check in counter

the empty AA counter

AWE counter

Once through security terminal "A"

N258JB at our gate departing as flight#75 to JFK.

Gate pushed back ready to go!!

Pushing back

One the JFK flight was gone it was time for our flight.

Our plane arriving as flight 664 from MCO the redsox plane!! it was funny the gate agent made an announcement that we would be flying on the redsox plane and that we might have to cancel our flight because the people working the flight where diehard Yankee fans and wanted nothing to do with the plane
Time for boarding
on this flight there where 16 wheel chairs we where laughing with the gate agent because it looked like a funeral procession just instead of cars it was wheelchairs, and then he said if you think this is bad i got a call about an hour ago from a friend of mine at JFK and he just put 45 wheel chairs on a flight to PBI, im glad i was not on that plane it took about 20 minutes to get like 8 people on the plane imagine 45.

Gate 15

almost on!!

After a long boarding we where ready to go

After a rough climb out through some heavy snow clouds we reached the tops of them at around 16,000feet
so there really wasnt anything to see on the way out
almost to PA
Time for blue chips!!

moving right along

about 40 minutes out of MCO the pilots took there break from the flight deck.

After a smooth flight and down the east coast we began the descent into MCO it was very steep with the spoilers up for alot of it , it was also very quick and withing in we where on final.
sorry for it being so blurry.

Arrival in MCO

Arriving at the gate

It was a really fun week in Florida and we went to every Disney park except Hollywood studios we also drove up to Daytona Beach and visited Embry Riddle, that's where i want to go for flight school. After a week of sunshine it was time to go back to Syracuse

Good to see your enthusiasm for B6. I'm a huge fan too and it's hard not to be in Boston with relatives in Buffalo, Sarasota, DC, NOLA and PHX. Good luck in your pursuit of a career in aviation.

Nice to see you are sharing lots of your recent flying experiences with us, especially with Jetblue. Even though I am a die-hard rays fan, I would love to travel on that Red Sox plane, or any special livery plane for that matter. Love jetblue with the variety of planes with different liveries. Some are not necessarily "special" but there are just a variety, and then the specials. I think the Red Sox plane is beautiful. Any more jetblue trips to come?

yeah i think B6 is the best. In SYR they fly the biggest plane the A320 to JFK and MCO also the E-190 comes but i m gonna fly the A320 in my opinion its a lot better. That was the second time i ever flew on a special plane, one was a SAS A330 and and the other was the redsox plane in this trip. It was cool!! speaking of the redsox plane its actually gonna be in SYR this afternoon from MCO!! and yeah i have some old trips and im flying on B6 to JFK on July 3rd.

A bit OT but USAir has a bunch of different logo jets. I've been on the Eagles jet from Belize to Charlotte, the Steelers plane from DCA to BOS and the PSA plane from BOS to PHX. Same old inflight experience inside though
