Portugal A318 AirFrance MAD Lisboa

Wed Jun 25, 2014 1:40 pm

There are really funny people. Also sometimes in the air, worth it a dedication!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014147_zpse1b65d74.jpg

The trip in one word:

SHAKY

"Is it worth it to fly three legs to catch something special?. It is!".

Bom dia, dear readers,

February 2014 started nicely with a trip to sunny Austria:

Austria Sun Snow Peaks INN Approach (by FLIEGER67 Jun 8 2014 in Trip Reports)

And here are the vids:

One more week is gone and I should do something in Portugal.
Portugal where spring is usually much earlier than here in the middle of Europe.
Sun, warm wind and a couple of interesting planes,
sounds good, isn´t it?.
Well, we will see!

Well, let me join the queues with all the people heading for the office at 8.00 am, but I´am heading for the airport, at least today!.
The car knows the way perfectly and looking forward for some quiet time at P0, impressive how less used the parking is this time of the year.
Swiftly onwards for the terminal, where the SSK presents me two OLCI selected boarding passes without a minute to wait.
Checking the screen is necessary, isn´t it?.
The inbound ex CDG looks like ok
and the outbound from gate 310, too
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014141_zpse922eea5.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014142_zpsac236f46.jpg
The ticket is fixed via Opodo, 4 legs on the confirmation, the fare this way per leg is 55.00 Euro´s.
Just for a swift lounge and apron view

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014144_zps32ea7adb.jpg
Down for the groundfloor later on and another point of view about F-GUGO
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014145_zps1042e402.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014146_zps81bd3daa.jpg
This is the scheduled Airbus A 318, no individual name to notice. Leg no. 22 on type and done not that long ago on CDG-STR.
With AF since 27.11.2006, 18 planes on type are in the fleet. There are no stories to show here.
Boarding looks like certainly on time!.
Cabin crew is all female, three women, elder and nice.
One large, slim, short black hair, age around 50, well if I´am looking like so good in a couple of years, lucky me!. Really nice by the way.
Cockpit crew is from France, the "Pilote" with a nice welcome during boarding.
No route or flightlevel info
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014148_zps9d79272b.jpg
Time now to leave the "Flughafen Stuttgart".
10.00 am, short ahead to schedule,1.00 hour by "AirFrance" from "Two-Five".
4 degrees, dry with some high clouds.
Just some interior views with the dark blue fabric seats, the legroom is ok and it´s clean so far.
We have a very close to 100% load with a good number of biz travellers on the way.
23D for me, the last row aisle and also here, all seats are taken
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014151_zps77fda8c6.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014152_zps12c25f04.jpg
Lisbonne, no way and there is absolutely no need for me to go there, never ever!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014153_zps33184b2a.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014154_zps0300f264.jpg
Service AF style, cookies, free drinks and soon thereafter we are at the "Aéroport Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle". Touchdown at the 2700 meters "Two-Six-Left", 11.10 am, 15 minutes ahead to schedule, 6 degrees, cloudy and wet

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014158_zps75a845d9.jpg
That´s the MAD one, maybe?

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014160_zps8d949537.jpg
It is!. F-GJVW, an A320 like the schedule told me and also one without an individual name.
Leg no. 112 on type, done years ago on STR-CDG.
An oldie, first in service with Air Inter from 21.10.1994 and joined the AF fleet later on. 46 planes on type are in service and there are no stories to show here.
This is the second leg on the Opodo confirmation, the fare 55.00 Euro´s.
Boarding now, ok let´s go!.
1.00 pm, short after schedule, 1.40 hours to fly on "AirFrance", departure from the 4215 meters "Two-Six-Right"
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014162_zps8df2b912.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014164_zps7bf9868d.jpg
Bye now to the "Aéroport Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle".
Oldfashioned, well used interior here, the legroom is ok
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014166_zpsf3e0651b.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014167_zps5904a836.jpg
Cockpit crew is from France, the "Capitaine" with a nice welcome during boarding.
No route or flightlevel info
and the well loaded cabin this way, very close to 100%, if not.
Also in biz, no open seat to spot all around
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014169_zps25b61527.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014170_zps8fa5d65a.jpg
Cabin crew is one male FA, middle aged and three women, one elder, ok, one elder and nice and another one elder, well built, loud and funny. Are you sure, this is no comedy show here?. She talked in french to me, well my french knowledge is somewhat limited and I told her about, but that´s no problem for the lady, more french stories all the way down the south for me!.
Why aways Lisbon, no, I don´t need Lisbon, no I don´t fly for Lisbon, no way!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014171_zps047726c7.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014173_zpsa158fd3c.jpg
Service, ok this is not the Netherlands, but
Gouda sounds like a good idea!.
Drinks are served twice and the above mentioned lady asked me even after a restroom visit, in french off course, if I like to have something else, good service here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014174_zps5cbf33a1.jpg

Touchdown at "Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas" and the 3500 meters "One-Eight-Left". 15
partly cloudy degrees, ontime at 3.00 pm.

Lisbon, really?. No way, Lisboa for me from C37!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014180_zps46377999.jpg
There is no lounge used here.

Now we see G-EZBD, the A319 like on schedule and another one without an individual name.
Leg no. 103 on type and this one is new to the log.
Spend it´s life with EZY since 13.09.2006, 138 A319´s are in the fleet right now.
Stories?. Not with EZY!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014184_zpse23ddde8.jpg
6.10 pm, short behind schedule, 1.00 "Easy" hours ex the 4100 meters runway "One-Four-Right".
15 degrees, partly cloudy and a rough wind here at
the "Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas".
This ticket is fixed with Opodo and the fare is just 30.00 Euro´s.
Cockpit crew sounds from Spain. "El comandante" with a nice welcome during boarding. All crew is introduced by name and once more short infos later on inflight but no route details
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014185_zps1b5f7240.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014188_zpse884835b.jpg
The load is 100%, the cabin fitted with the typical orange grey fabric seats, low legroom and an nasty chemistry smell in the rear part.
Cabin crew is all male today, 4 guys, all younger till middle aged and ok, but nothing special.
Service is BOB.
26D for me, the last row aisle and all seats are taken.
The white stuff ok, as long as it stays up the peaks!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014189_zpsd65d2979.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014190_zps0916bbab.jpg
Touchdown at the 3805 meters "Two-One", 6.20 pm at the "Aeroporto da Portela" , short ahead to schedule and 16 degrees.
Well, Lisbao welcomes me as expected, clear sky, a warm breeze also in the evening, a pleasure to walk for the hotel just around the corner from the terminal.
Really?.
No way, cold, gusty wind, fierce rain, water drops even from the terminal ceiling when I´ve decided to wait for some minutes for a change.
Well, if i really like to sleep tonight, I should go now, in any other case I spend the night here in front off the terminal. There is no improvement to see.
It´s really not that far to walk, but when I´am down at the hotel, visible from the terminal I feel wet like not even a long, long time ago. Soaking wet.
Swiftly checked in for a hot shower, ah, that feels like good
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014193_zpsf28bcd9e.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014192_zps8207a54e.jpg
And the bed looks like welcoming for some minutes to stay till breakfast!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014191_zpsb447aa98.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014194_zps63af20a2.jpg
That´s what I need in the morning, definitely!
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014195_zpsfcf9e992.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014196_zps237f80a4.jpg
More luck with the weather today, well we will see and hopefully everything goes like planned maybe the stylish way, but that´s another story:

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/PMI07/LIS022014232_zps6265eb64.jpg

Here are the conclusions:
1.)Air France STR-CDG: A shaky ride a la francaise.
2.)Air France CDG-MAD: We continue further on the shaky theme for Espagna.
3.)Easyjet MAD-LIS: No more shakers, just by surprise.

Bye por enquanto,
take care, FLIEGER67

Greetings Markus,

Long time no story so I was happily surprised to find a new one. Going down south, for sure a good idea but it seems the weather was not on your side in Lisbon? Two solid AF flights with a big difference in cabin layout. Guess the A320 could do with an upgrade! Also nice to see you on the easy side again, full house as always but cheap as chips, me like!

I guess after all that happened recently you are not too keen on booking with Opodo again soon? Also why didn’t you book the easyJet flight on their own site?

Thank you and good point with the retro cabin on the 320. Me, too with the Easy way. More done recently, you know.

These voucher biz calmed down the fare again at 15.00 Euros from 45.00 quoted directly to 30.00 this way.
Absolutely strange when you check the EZY confirmation at 45.00 Euro´s and another CC noted, not mine, who payed the higher fare.
Never more, you know.

Hi Markus,

Good to catch up on your reports after the holidays.

AF & EZY is sure a good combo: EZY for the tea & AF for the cookies!

I think Portugal in winter is best avoided, sounds just like my trip to Oporto. I bet that hot shower was good after getting soaked outside!

Happy flying
