05.15 am it is, at least that´s what the cellphone shows me.
Driving down a little later with the office queue for STR airport to catch a flight, in true A.netters style in the very wrong direction for my final target.
Tough to decide for the parking space at P0 with more than 1000 places open!.
The fare here is just 30.00 Euro´s secured with Opodo. My seat is OLCI selected and there is just a paper to catch, what works with the SSK without any hassle again.
Onwards for the terminal, checking the screen, isn´t it?.
Well, Sunexpress and SAW looks like not the easy going today. Done exact the same flight just three weeks ago without the delay, lucky me

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FRA08/FRANFEB14002_zps9496318d.jpg
Gate 170 for me and no lounge used.
If you like to see the sun I recommend Germany in February, 2 degrees, clear sky

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FRA08/FRANFEB14004_zps79fca627.jpg
Well or not, this is D-ABGK, no individual name to notice and definitely not the Dash like on schedule.
7 319´s are in the actual fleet and this one is in the air since 03.04.2008 with Niki and airberlin.
There are no stories to show here.
Leg no. 105 on type and no, not new to the log. Done on TXL-STR and STR-DUS before

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FRA08/FRANFEB14006_zps27904b9a.jpg
Cockpit crew is from Germany. The "Pilot" with a nice and relaxed welcome after the boarding completed message.
No route or flightlevel info.
09.45 am, 15 minutes ahead to schedule, 45 minutes by "Airberlin" from "Flughafen Stuttgart´s" runway "Two-Five".
Will we see more sun up there?

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FRA08/FRANFEB14008_zpscd8fe999.jpg
There is space enough here,
24 A and three for me.
A 60 % load, mostly biz travellers.
Dark blue grey leather seats, legroom is ok and the cabin is not that really clean

Cabin crew is all female and middle aged.
One with black hair, ok,
one brown hair, nice,
one blonde, not that large, nice.
With a couple more pax upfront

Give me a Rosinenbrötchen and free drinks for a shaky finals to "Düsseldorf Airport" and soon thereafter we touch the 3000 meters "Two-Three-Left" at 10.45 am, 20 minutes ahead to schedule. 7 degrees and partly cloudy it is

Some quality lounge time to follow, sure, with the Hugo Junkers place.
This ticket is fixed with BA directly,
the fare is 65.00 Euro´s.
OLCI works and also the BP is homeprinted just to stay airside here.
And down for the very groundfloor it is to catch the flight from gate B42, passport cecked at the gate and the agent decided for the very first time that my bag doesn´t fit in the cabin.
Come on, this cute small black bag togehter with all these big heavy carry on´s down in these dark, cold baggage compartment?.
Hah, no way, definitely not!

no individual name to see.
Leg no. 7 on type and a new entry to the log it is.
In the air from 30.04.1996 with Crossair, Saab itself and finally Eastern. 9 Saab´s are in the Eastern fleet.

I don´t know how but not that long thereafter I´am back at the hotel. Or was it a dream maybe?.
Anyway, short nights, now that´s nothing new to me or should I better just to minimize the risk of missing the flight tomorrow or this morning stay away from the comfy bed at all?.
Hah, no way, I´ve never oversleep, never ever!

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FRA08/FRANFEB14122_zpsf4552199.jpg

Here are the conclusions:
1.)Airberlin STR-DUS: The relaxed way to start the trip.
2.)Eastern Airways DUS-LCY: Good to see the Saab up and running.

A bientôt, take care,

Hi Markus,

It seems that February was a good month for the One World account! Nice pics of London, especially by night, the Emirates Experience really is something special for us A.netters.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
If you like to see the sun I recommend Germany in February, 2 degrees, clear sky

Winter, 2 degrees, shudder

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Give me a Rosinenbrötchen

AB knows what the best breakfast snacks consist of!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Love the cookies, more please,

Those BA cookies are even better than the AF ones

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
And this is really London, not Austria?

The technology is probably Austrian!

Roma or the Private Suites?

No competition, is there?

Hah, no way, I´ve never oversleep, never ever!

That sounds ominous…..there’s a first time for everything!

Happy flying

Hello Markus,

Nice story here once more! Very interesting to read about the BA / Eastern service to LCY. Looking forward to the next part, that is to CMF if I remember correctly...?

It seems that February was a good month for the One World account! Nice pics of London, especially by night, the Emirates Experience really is something special for us A.netters.

Thank you and true words with One World during February and also true with London by night and the Emirates Experience.

More BA please this way!.

Bye now, hope to see you not again in the near future!

You probably will again!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 1):
Tough job, but it works, under the wing, you know!

And how much contorting did you have to do to get the shot?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 1):
And boy, shaky it is!

Ugh. I hate that when riding any gondola - in my worst moment I'd be afraid of it falling to the ground!

(I actually had to look up why there's an Emirates Air Line gondola all of a sudden in London.)

Good report!

Thank you and exactly my way with the cablecars or things like this.

You can, booking in advance is recommendable and it´s not that really cheap!.

Hey Markus

Great report and nice catch on the Saab   I like the way the FIDS at LCY show the A/C Reg. more should do it. I think FRA still show those on the screens around the Terminals?

The Emirates Airline and exhibition very familiar with me. A nice thing to do but for me Im not too fond of heights so only took it oneway lol...

Look forward to the next report.

Regards

Markus,

Back from holidays and time to check out the latest stories - or rather clear my reading backlog a bit   2 and a half flights in this one, the Saab is on my wishlist, sure and that Emirates thing is also on.

Enjoyed reading about your experiences on the BACF Saab, it's something I'd quite like to catch a ride on at some point, I really like the FIDS screen at LCY, I've only flown into City once and didn't notice them, although I'm surpirsed that the airlines are happy to let them show pax figures, although it's certainly interesting to see them.
