Brussels Airlines A330-300 Business Class BRU-JFK!

Sun Nov 29, 2015 4:16 pm

Hi guys,

I thought I'd quickly share my impressions of Brussels Airlines' A330-300 Business Class product. If you want an extensive video review, you can follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF2YVjVxyug&index=2&list=PLTdr0lkLhTAAgbGNGbxcBkLcxppeAhYhL

Anyhow, boarding begun smoothly and we were soon settled into the beautiful seats which are configured 1-2-1 or 2-1-2. I was in 7K for the outbound and 1A for the return.

After boarding, the FAs served beverages. The seat is super comfortable for sitting and/or lounging and definitely gives a sense of spaciousness.

After takeoff, meal were served. Among those was this incredible Caesar salad - the best I've ever had! Overall, the catering was amazing.

Before landing the crew distributed there Neuhaus chocolate boxes as a thank you - definitely a nice touch.

After landing, I managed to gather the entire crew for a photo. They were SO NICE!

I would definitely recommend Brussels Airlines if you ever have the chance to fly them. Once again, for a more extensive review you can watch the video here. Since it is 45 minutes long, there was no way I could summarize it in writing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF2YVjVxyug&index=2&list=PLTdr0lkLhTAAgbGNGbxcBkLcxppeAhYhL

Some of those business class photos make the pitch look very tight. Was that just a matter of perspective?

As you can hear in the full review linked above, it actually wasn't! I had plenty of space and didn't feel restricted!

Good to see that you enjoyed the trip.

Interesting cabin configuration in that it allow business passengers travelling together to sit together while allowing individual passengers space and privacy.

Good to see the friendly crew coming together for the photo.

Thanks for sharing.

Great videos! Like that you take time to make verbal commentary as opposed to text comments.

I see you're dual national, American and Swedish (or another one of the red EU/EEA passports   ). I'll soon be the same and was wondering about the formalities of traveling back to the US as such.

Can you exit and enter the EU/EEA as a citizen of one of the member states only while at the same time entering the US as only a US citizen? Or do you need to present both passports on both ends?

If you need to enter the US as both American and an EU/EEA member state citizen are there more formalities as opposed to entering as an American only?

You got the passports right!

I always bring both my passports when I travel outside of EU or the US so for transatlantic I usually only use my Swedish one in Europe and then when I land in the US, I just use my American one. If they ask or want to see my other one (which is very rare), I have it in my bag!

Great trip report and I enjoyed your video blog. Kudos to you for being brave and adding your commentary live in the cabin! I believe Brussels Airlines was one of the first airlines to install the Thompson Vantage business class seats you were sitting in. The double/single arrangement is a clever way of increasing seat density but maintaining an all aisle access lie-flat seat product. The trade-off is the varying size of footwell and the lack of storage space for carryon bags. Thank you for also showing how the tray table worked. It looks like you figured it out pretty quickly without looking at the instructions. I always thought it was a bit of a Rubic's cube to open and close it
