Fighter In SOU 17/5/2006

Fri May 19, 2006 11:03 am

Hello everyone... I was passing by SOU last Wednesday when I saw a fighter streak out of the airport at about 17.00 or 17.30. It also seemed a little weird because, although I can't say I got a great look at it, it kind of looked like an F/A-18 (which the RAF definitely don't have, but which I distinctly remember from my time in Switzerland). I also remember that about 2 years ago more or less around this time, 2 Tornados also staged from the airport (was standing at a Bus stop just under the flight path).
I was wondering if anyone had any information on this, or maybe when we can expect to see it/them again?

My guess would be it could have weather deverted from somewhere else and needed to land at SOU because of fuel considerstions. It could have been a F/A-18 as Spain flys them, too.
