Kulverstukas, Yes, but don't know when it will be implemented. In phpbb you can set an image to different status, but not all statuses have deicated images from start so they have to be made. Likely not a high priority.

I wrote the above earlier this morning, but have received an E-mail just now that they're still looking into this (and not per se waiting for next week). So it will be fixed, but I don't have an exact ETA.

I guess the change to brackets and all caps for Off-Airport locations and closed airfields is permanent, then, yes? As it appears to have been retroactively added to pre-upgrade entries.

I realize I've harped on this, but it's sad to see all the work I did submitting corrections being flushed like that.

What happened with the site again? Two of my photos were accepted today #3955399 and #3955401.
But I am not unable to find it during website search by photographer name, location, registration, type. Unable to find it in 24 hrs added. These photos visible only when clicking on photographer and in photographer corner.

Looks like there is still a bug in the code somewhere, I can't login on my phone using Firefox. It always returns back an "Invalid Login" response despite my username and password being correct.

On front page click the icon in the top right corner (on smaller screens the three bars) and choose Profile. On small screens it's My account, and then View Profile. I had a related question before and I was glad to see today that the way the photos in the albums are displayed has changed. I have a few more follow-up recommendations though:

• The photos seem to be ordered with the most viewed first. Any chance to add more options such as displaying the most recently added photo first? Other options would be sorting by airline, airport or aircraft type (not important for me though)
• Would it be possible to add the option to display e.g. 20/40/60/120 photos per page? I recall the old page had up to 120 photos per page
• Maybe I overlooked this, but there used to be an option 'edit photos in album', where photos could be moved around within the photo album. Haven't seen this yet but I used it quite a lot
• A super bonus would be to have the option to display the photo previews only (without any captions). The old page had such an option which I had used for my album

It would be great if the above recommendations could be configured for each album, so if a visitor opens the album he'd see the album exactly the way the author has defined it.

I admit my request is a bit selfish as it is for my photo flight-log, too (similar to EL-AL's request), but its the only way the photo flightlogs work if the photos can be sorted in chronological order of the flights.

Sorry if it has been discussed but one matter about site design.

The new statistic information now is presented like 76,4K of 38,3M views. It might be good for graphic things, for general presentations. It is very modern feature but rather unuseful and inconvinient if we talk about tables and ratings. I don't know if anybody else care but I'd like to see the exact figures of my views for the shot or general info.

Could it be changed if people will say they would like to see 4.125 views insted of 4K?

That doesn't sound difficult - just take the existing images and do something like paste an exclamation mark over the corner of all of them. Voila!

No way. Based on what we see since site relaunch it must take couple month and hard work of huge developers team to implement. They also must break main page and photo screening in process.

Further to the issue about whether the top 5 photos are displayed horizontally or vertically I note that in IE11 they are displayed horizontally and in Firefox v48.02 they are displayed vertically. This is on Windows 7 SP1 at a resolution of 1440x900.

Looks like it was the zoom. I'm still astounded the A.net site is so fussy about that though. BTW how can I see what the zoom level is as FF doesn't seem to show the value?

You can press the menu-button at top right of FF. On the second line of the pop up window (below copy/paste) the zoom level is indicated and can be changed. I found that one only when searching for it due to the display issues of a.net.

A small update has just been released for the homepage layout. The page should now not break to mobile right away like it did in the past and if you start making the screen smaller it should remain in desktop mode. Users using smaller screens will experience a desktop view without interruption. So there is a lot more time now before it goes to mobile. Let us know if you have any problems thank you.

The high bounce rate could be the result of dissatisfaction with the site design or it could be the outcome of the default behaviour when clicking on an external link. On the old site, a link would open in a new window or tab but on this site the link opens in the same window. It can be very difficult to retain viewers once they have moved to another site as they may become more interested in that site or follow another link from it rather than try and find their way back to this one.

Perhaps the old default of opening external links in a new window or tab could be introduced here.

Just wondering if the failed retention of log-in detail is happening across all browsers ? I'm on the new Microsoft Edge browser that came with Win10 and cannot retain an A.net log-in, same on my Windows 8.1 phone. Is anyone having better luck with Chrome for example ? I wonder what the problem actually is, retention of log-in cookie info seems to be the most basic of website features...

Chrome on W8.1 doesn't maintain log-in at all. Maybe a couple of hours if I'm lucky then have to go through the whole process again. Remember me button does nothing.

How is stating facts based on what information you release flame bait? One of your colleagues said a few weeks ago that the person in charge of actually implementing the updates was out of the office. That tells me there's one person working on the site. Would you say the management and development team has done a good job with the implementation of new site? I don't think calling the outcome of it so far as "terrible" is out of line at all. I've been around for a long time on the internet and I've never seen such a poorly managed roll-out by a major internet company. And lastly, I've been on the site for over a decade.

No, it does not mean there's a whole team with problems, what it means is that you have a lead developer or product owner that approves what gets pushed in a release, or not depending on their status.

How will that post help with moving the site forward? Have you checked the update thread lately to see what has been done since the update was released? In all fairness JohnKrist, the negativity and "DM crew bashing" is fully justified when it takes upwards of THREE MONTHS (and counting) for a full team of devs to seemingly be unable to implement a simple cookie store on the user's device to save having to re-login every visit. Basically the whole DM crew wants sacking and some competent people need hiring in their place. I'm sure this won't sit well with you but I'd bet that the majority of the users feel much the same.

Why can I only view an Airliners.net link in a post when I am not logged in?

When I sign in from a particular forum, after signing in, I am always taken to the home page. Earlier, it would take me to the page I was on when I clicked the login button. Why is this regression? Its irritating to be taken to some other page after signing in.

It's on the fix list and has been escalated, that together with the login/logout issue are high priority in the current sprint.

Contrary to what you think we are very passionate about the site, and so are the developers. We also got a new general manager a while back, Ashoor, and he is an aviation nut and very passionate about airliners. I agree that the airliners remake was long over due, but now it's here and we are working really hard to fix things and improve it. It's a huge project. Happy friday all, Good news this morning, login now re-direct you back to where you came from in most cases.
Fixes has also been applied to the remember me function so that should have improved as well.

But please do let us know if you encounter any problems with logging in or the redirect function.

The redirect back to the original page is working now.

The login remembering is not working. I just logged in with remember me, exited Safari, came immediately back in, clicked my bookmark and my login was forgotten already. (My bookmark link is https://www.airliners.net/aviation-forum ... _aviation/ if that helps any.)
