Suncountry at ABQ?

Hi all

I was just looking and flight aware and found Suncountry flights between ABQ and MSP 2 days in a row. Any idea of what these could be? The flight numbers were 8681 and 8674.

Either a Charter for Sports or Military im guessing

I'm sure it was a charter. They run quite a few charters, especially for sports teams. Obviously those aren't typical flight numbers either.

Likely charters or repositioning for the New Mexico Bowl last weekend. Both Colorado State and Marshall used Sun Country.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems with just potatoes.

speaking of ABQ and SY though. MSP-ABQ might actually be a viable route for SY in the summer.

That would be really cool. People frequently complain about the MD88 and MD90 that DL operates on the route. Maybe if pricing was competitive SY could take some marketshare.

We get them occasionally in ROC for Casino trips.

According to the news here, Sun County has initated one stop service to HNL from MSP a few days a week. Saw their 738 at HNL, but thought it was probably a charter. Can anyone confirm?

This time of year, an aircraft that seems out of place is likely a college football charter to the 40 or so bowl games that are played.

Most complaints are about the noise and the lack of IFE. I’m hoping we see the CSeries here.

Hey KABQ737--Just saw your thread... The Sun Country charters were for the Gilden New Mexico Bowl football game here last weekend between CSU in Fort Collins and Marshall University in Huntington, WV. My count, they ran 7 charters on Dec 13-14, 4 from FNL and 3 from HTS. Looks like some aircraft did a shuttle back and forth before going back to MSP. They all returned again after the game on 12/16. Looks like 3 were on the ground at once on Dec 13. Wonder how Cutter handled all that? I agree, I've never seen Sun Country do anything like that here in ABQ before. They run a lot of charters out of here but usually only one at a time.

Correct. Via LAX. Starts in May 2018
