Shouldn't airlines pay for a hotel if its a mechanical issue? They gave out $7 food vouchers
"An American Airlines flight to Chile had to return to Miami International Airport after only an hour into the trip because of mechanical issues. The flight ended up being delayed for 15 hours, allegedly forcing passengers to spend the night on the airport’s floor."

Wonder if AA commented on this, sometimes you are limited by the hotel inventory... still better than the CLT treatment I got a few months back, despite a 5 hour delay we couldn’t even leave the secured area since TSA went home for the night, the 5 turned into a much longer delay. It you couldn’t visit a hotel if you wanted too...
