DL Landing Gear Fire in ATL

Did not see this posted and only saw it this morning. Looks like it happened last night. Could not find any further news thus far but will check the WSB site in a few moments. Have to do work also.

Sounds like a mechanical issue forced them to return and land overweight. Sometimes they will circle to burn off fuel (or dump it depending on the aircraft), but sometimes the nature of the emergency requires an immediate return.

Wow that's crazy! I'm glad everyone is safe. Judging by the article, when they mentioned that the aircraft had 199 people onboard, I immediately thought "Yep, defiantly a 757".
