Highest altitude US airports with airline service?

Thu Mar 14, 2019 9:50 pm

Does anyone have a list of the highest US airports with airline service? I searched for a list but none of them specify which have airline service as many are for general aviation.

I think TEX (Telluride, CO)is the highest at 9,078 feet. They have Boutique air pc-12 service to Denver. Over the years they have had Great Lakes, SkyWest, Mesa, Rocky Mountain, and a few others I’m sure.

My first flight there I got a shirt eluding to it being the highest commercial airport in the States.

FLG (Flagstaff) is up there at 7,014.

Beechtobus is correct, TEX is the highest with commercial flights. Only Leadville has a higher elevation (9,927') for all airports in the US.

TEX is so hard to fly in to that most pax headed to or from Telluride end up using the MTJ (Montrose) airport that is well over an hour away from the town itself!
Flying in the middle seat of coach is much better than not flying at all!
