How many routes did UA shift from IAD to EWR after the CO merger?

Very few if any. I guess EZE came from IAD after merger. But it was much more IAD serving as a reliever hub to EWR. The bulk of the 10P from EWR moved south. At some point MAN,DUB & LIS all went to IAD.

Cities that hadn’t seen any service from UA prior to CO

More routes have actually shifted from EWR to IAD in an effort to flow more connecting traffic over IAD.

I wouldn't say shifted, not many routes have been cancelled from Newark and flown from IAD. it is more expansion out of IAD (i.e. Lisbon went to 763 (764 this summer) and 752 from IAD, when a few years ago it was just a 757 from EWR).

Within the last 2 years BDL-EWR has completely ceased in favor of BDL-IAD. Of which BDL-EWR was all on ERJ or Q400 and now has some mainline to IAD.

Post Merger with UA/CO, IAD-EZE went to EWR can was canned from IAD on a 3-Class 763, then it was dropped and brought back within the last few years from EWR.

Some sCO metal went to IAD for TATL routes like IAD-AMS and CDG. Both shifted back up because of diversion issues. Then UA launched later IAD-MAN and DUB and those both stayed on the 757.

There were also a few PMUA IAD routes that were canned and never returned such as Moscow and Ghana.

I'm the year before BDL-EWR ended it was a mix of A320, 737, and ERJ.

Exactly – it's not the big destinations but a lot of the smaller northeast markets were shifted from EWR to IAD in the last year or so.

How many passengers boarded a the wrong flight thinking it was CO to IAH when it was actually UA to IAD? No, wait - those airlines merged, so... ;)

The second frequency was shifted. Both MAN and DUB were 2x 757 from EWR at the time of the merger and subsequently became 1x 757 EWR and 1x 757 IAD.

IAD-MAN was subsequently cancelled but IAD-DUB continues with a 757

BDL-IAD has always seen mainline flights, although since dropping BDL-EWR there is more mainline recently, sometimes each of the 4 daily flights are mainline with the exception being weekends and sometimes the 5pm bank see's a CR7 or ERJ175. BDL-EWR like previously noted was always a mix of mainline/ERJ/ATR/Q400. BDL-EWR was mainly connecting traffic, very little if any O&D.

The one thing that BDL-EWR helped with was international connections, I am surprised UA didn't at least keep a flight or 2 into EWR but IAD can cover quite a bit as well as AC codeshare through YYZ.
