Scammy Pop-Up Windows

Fri Aug 02, 2019 8:12 am

For the last week or two, occasionally but not every time I click on a thread or go to log in here a pop-up window appears hawking one of two classic phishing scams: Either "Your Flash Player may be out of date! Just click here to update to the newest version!" or "Our scans show your computer is infected with THREE VIRUSES! Click here to download our cleaning software and become virus-free!". This has only been happening to me on this website and no others.

The "Flash" phishing website shows as "http://deej.almeusciu.site/AwHo2xmsSY_IroJMbQFGkBf9jf2LURRq9iuOEUE8QXbGmgYDmFc3JiH308XQucT-rnMUpEmT7xiM8Cuxrv8v2htAEcCfzC3HRY7mGEfBJwPrbw==?ci=w7THTV6J4M21N7BOHTALA44S&n3er=sc3JtA==&uu=lIaJhrzOpHZ6hnl8eHeNdnp4gXg="

Has anyone else here run into this?

I am experiencing the same issue just recently for the past few days, not just in the a.net forums, but also while browsing through the a.net photo database as well with the exact same address popping up:

Here's the web address for the "Your System Is Infected With Three Viruses!" phishing website- "http://your-mac-security-analysis.net.hgizfh.fxikcfl3278vr2bb2g9ktwotxq.xyz/fx/en/index.php?browser=Safari&fred=1&app=Mac%20Speedup%20Pro&hul=rs.eujmj3g.space&cep=4CIfoQsJAc1KKdw-qXiBUluZvOCmTzXjEv3T6EiCyohCcJ6CEpgyVcJm4xNW7xHgb4x340VM5M5wxZB11NkLiW3YoRY0Ij-oAifhNvGOdeGdcBCwncuFUr-FUDmI4tSuetJhSbC736dfk1vLZ03TV6mAgZNiBrp_dKDFzhWrIS-THYzDlVu8zG-XjXVd36oz8yMqcKXXSnxaHI0LAAoNP88yHvuxJX2WA1cWvtMEajENIEIt7yjHvXVdJD8dsTxYtzN77w2BRxc_ee3mHfNXSFsgH-g-v_dXOD0V3baomnGNsP6s81lqIqlo6v2QvM48bIKnUHesX9sSjkALyowPNATU19B6MHFpq-J1eU_EI8BE2_XU33mqTGMQpoVqBG-cdwaW8P8ZyEJsSpBHX9D02c_guXyF-ekViZRXXg87MP22ov-GKqrYv2kpaaWcWD1GV5Mvc2WR6oHkBwhBBdFAffLSVH24ZsQ6CbOrGWzGNwEVQCRlOPXP6CBpJn_65f__lybrfFFPglMjQ9ZNeFjLvFEqhcvthDqKhXFVsmjNgAaa8cNJAVM2__GFuP2tSueApyC_w4Ik_E3zfCskk60u6g&_=BAoAXUTQBgFdRNAGgAGBAcAAILTC0zG6oRlbtI5_JEQ6MjAqY3mZVIS39ubP6qbeAjPKwQAgrByk1aB8p8QMR9UPtjkqj4EjqCa_asac6jkBDoLKFSHCACAGcqCmABpfq1rP3IzdLdm_xFiQ2kN8ufIpFKMENkrwt8QAECYCAwY0NS4wDBJSnwyq6gzFABA8pBdEkmpgADg8uo-hFRnjwwAgohIvPC6t8vO-by_942PyYVheTsj7gpNAuMYakKaH6Q0#b"

Been getting these for the past three days. In fact, I got one when selecting "Reply" to this thread.

Yes, I mentioned it in another thread but my post wasn't acknowledged. it's really bad. I installed an Adblocker because of it, but it hasn't worked against those two phishing scams. Can we please get this fixed? Happens every time I go to view another forum, click on a thread, etc. It's gotten worse over the past 3 to 4 days.

Still pretty bad with the flash update pop ups. It makes navigating the site very difficult.

Yep, I get them about every ten seconds. This is my third time trying to type this reply... mine always say "Congratulations! You've been randomly selected to complete this survey for a $1,000 Walmart gift card." It even comes with fake facebook reviews from "people" that just so happen to all have really common last names!
Can someone please start a wikipedia list of failed startup airlines? I am interested in seeing just how long it would be...

1 week since last moderator response and the "Update your flash" pop ups are as bad as ever.

There's nothing that we can do about it. We've notified the developers, and that's literally all we can do. As a moderator, I have as much control over this as you do.
