Need help identifying airline pilot hat, by tomorrow

Greetings, in a town on vacation, came across this hat in an antique store, tag said "pilot hat" looking for insight on hat and where it may come from, before I leave town tomorrow.

Although I cannot speak for the authenticity of the cap, the badge is definitely a U.S. World War II Civilian Pilot Training Program (CPTP) instructors badge.

Some sort of WWII hat. Probably Army.
You can take the boy away from aviation, but you can't take aviation out of the boy.
