Online check-in process was a bit clunky. It did not work on an android phone so tried it on an iPhone and was able to finally check in. There was some defect in their pages viewed on a chrome browser it seemed like.

Day of the flight reached airport on time only to be told that there was going to be a delay of a minimum of 2 hours due to fog in Delhi. Sigh!

Apparently they did send the email which I did receive later on in the day.

Looks like there were fog delays earlier in the day, but given air Asia lack of aircrafts, they're not in a position for an aircraft swap ad hoc. Poor show by air Asia so far. Not a very good experience.

However the baggage drop experience was acceptable.

Spent some time at a cafe before entering through security.

Once airside, we still had quite a lot of time with the new scheduled departure expected to be 1835. Urgh.

Due to the delay, air Asia were offering complementary food which consisted of Indian biryani (stir fried rice) with yoghurt.

As expected, quite a few DYKWIA passengers demanding their mortgage to be paid due to this delay. I feel it for the airline staff working in India. They do have a tough gig.

We finally departed the time we were supposed to arrive at Chandigarh. So an even 4 hour delay.

Once on board, the crew were frantic to get all of us seated as quickly as possible for a swift turn around. Tbh, a 40 minute turn around in an airport like Mumbai is quite good.

The captain seemed to be in a hurry as we sped through the taxi way and airborne in no time.

Seatbelt signs switched off in 7 minutes after take-off and the cabin crew sprang into action.

Once again, speed was the name of the game. It seemed like all the crew were determined to make as much as lost time as possible.

Tried their warm food. Tasted pretty good.

A full flight from Mumbai to Delhi.

Descent started at around 2020 with an expected time to land into Delhi at 2050.

Not that heavy fogs at Delhi at this time a km of visibility. But upon approach it looked a lot less foggy than what was described by the captain.

Most of the passengers exited at Delhi with a mere 20 of us who had booked from Mumbai to Chandigarh.

Contrary to my expectations, the flight was fairly full from Delhi onward to Chandigarh too.

Had a long taxi to the runway and airborne by 2220. Flight time of 40 minutes announced with an expected landing time of 2300 into Chandigarh. Delayed by exactly 4 hours.

Due to the delay, It was a nightmare to get a taxi outside the airport. We had to wait nearly 40 minutes to get a cab to take us to a nearby hotel :(

Finally at Chandigarh, 4 hours delayed

Online check in was not possible since I had booked via an international credit card. Although upon checking the booking, the seats had already been allocated.

On the day of the flight, there was a bit of a delay with getting the taxis in the morning. But we made it to the airport on time. Once again, getting a taxi was difficult. This seems to be the norm in Chandigarh.

Baggage been screened and baggage drop was quick, followed by security. Airside by 7 am.

Had a quick breakfast from the only shop open. Flight arrived from Delhi on time and it was a quick turnaround.

Disembarked right on time and a flight time of 35 minutes was announced.

Good show by indigo thus far except for the inability of web check in.

Cabin crew were only serving pre-ordered meals and drinks on this flight given the short nature of this flight.

This was a short flight and landed in Delhi well ahead of time.

We were parked at a remote stand near terminal 1 and was quickly whisked away to the terminal building for a quick transfer.

The transfer process was simple and a quick security scan later we were in the departure terminal.

It's quite a busy time at Delhi. But you are allowed to go to the vast duty free and food court area on the 1st and 2nd floors. A great place to while away your time.

We spent 20 minutes walking around by when boarding had commenced, once again on time, a synonym for indigo.

Boarded via a coach and disembarked right in time for a short taxi.

Flight time of an hour and 40 minutes announced which meant we would be early into Mumbai.

Indigo run a tight ship. In a country like India, where being on time is a miracle, to be this accurate over and over again is definitely commendable. It's no wonder they're soaring high. Keep it simple, work hard and doing the right thing. Usually easier said than done.

Once airborne, the captain gave a detailed description of the flight plan announcing an early arrival into Mumbai. He even mentioned places like Jaipur and Udaipur which was visible as per our flight path.

A really good announcement from the cockpit. Very interesting and entertaining. Superb show indigo!

Bye Bye Delhi

Breakfast. Tasted yummy!

Rest of the flight was uneventful and we landed 20 minutes ahead of schedule! Perfect!

On certain indigo flights the crew take turns and wish each row of passengers for thanking us flying indigo. A really nice touch.

A class act from indigo and a marked difference in the soft product offered by indigo compared to our onward journey on Air Asia India.

This was our trip around Northern India. Hope you liked it.

Stay tuned for the next report, which takes us from Mumbai to Beijing on Air China's recently commenced non-stop service.

Until then, happy and safe flying, adios!
