What do you think of the viability of Emirates launching DXB-DTW? Or any of the middle eastern airlines launching Detroit flights (due to Dearborn being heavily populated by middle eastern people)?

More likely TK will connect DTW-IST than EK, QR, EY coming combined. And TK will come only after 2021/2025 depending on the election results in USA.
Pakistan's aviation sector is coming back. It won't be as strong as our eastern neighbor, nowhere close, but it's going to grow over time. Stand by and watch.

You can't just say that the DTW has a large "Arab" population. You have to know where they are originally from. The largest Middle Eastern group are the Lebanese. They have been here the longest and are generally the most prosperous and assimilated. Next are the Iraqi Chaldeans (Christians) also are well assimilated. The third largest group, and generally the latest arrivals, are the Yemenis. The only ones who really travel back to their homeland are the Lebanese, now that things are more peaceful there. For them, Royal Jordanian works fine.

Would you mind to elaborate on what have the upcoming US elections to do with TK expanding operations in the US as they have been doing steadilly for the last decade or more?

EK stands no chance, 777 is too big to justify.
EY is no shape to start a new route
QR is the only one has the right equipment.
We are right in the middle of overserved and highly motivated airports like ORD, JFK, YYZ.
Even if O&D fills 60% of the plane, getting feeder partners at North Terminal is an issue.

Never mind, I guess I was wrong. Forgot TK started service to ATL, MIA, and EWR over this term.
But still, EK/EY/QR is unlikely to launch DTW unless demand for India/Pakistan ticks upward from DTW (so far everyone from DTW is driving to YYZ for PK or ORD/YYZ for AI/AC)
Only TK has a chance, cause their business model for U.S. ops does not solely rely on Indians and Pakistanis.

As I said, I know people in my own family from DTW willing to drive to ORD/YYZ to fly to Pakistan on EK/EY/QR (or in the case of PK, YYZ solely).
