It appears that American Airlines is really stepping up their service between PWM and PHL starting on November 4th. There will be 6 daily departures from Portland with 2 mainline (A319) aircraft at 5:30AM and 5:55PM and the flights continue beyond February so it's not a holiday push. Mainline service to CLT also continues with no decrease in flights which surprised me due to the added lift to PHL. Not sure if the pandemic will have an effect on this new schedule but it looks promising especially during the normal winter slow down normally associated with northeast markets.

Maybe after the Canadian boarder opens up this would be more feasible.

I have been hearing talk of some kind of a northeast regional deal in the works for a while now, on top of the AA-B6 agreement. Makes sense, plenty of already-owned planes and crews available.
I am no longer in the building and hearing the direct rumors from upstairs, so take it with a grain of salt, but it would be beneficial for both carriers if JB can get an LOA with the pilots for it.

Things have to change, and companies are starting to run out of cash and time. If you are going to make a "bold" move, it might as well be now, for spring/summer.
