Steps for short-term airliner storage?

Sun May 10, 2020 3:10 am

With so many planes parked on runways and tarmacs around the world, I got curious about the process involved. For example, do engines have to be started up periodically to keep everything lubricated and happy? Are planes stored with minimal fuel or just whatever they happen to have when they're placed?

Any info would be great.

There was a similar topic discussed on 737 Max once they entered storage. Try to search 737 max storage, and if nothing pops up, I'm sure someone will drop a link.

Check out GE Aviation on YouTube. They’ve done a series of videos on engine preservation since pandemic started.
