Vaccinated US Citizen / Travel to Europe

Tue May 11, 2021 9:22 am

Will I get hassled trying to enter the EU with a CDC issued vaccine card and email records of my vaccine appointments to correspond with my CDC card?

Apparently some decisions will be made in mid-June:
https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/e ... s-britons/

Further in the text:
Until an official COVID-19 EU certificate is launched, member states should accept:
“certificates from non-EU countries based on national law, taking into account the ability to verify the authenticity, validity and integrity of the certificate and whether it contains all relevant data”

I hope the decisions made will be reciprocal.

Good news, starting today you no longer need a covid test before departure if you are fully vaccinated with proper proof. They are still updating the entry website.

More news here https://www.germany.info/us-en/covid-19/2321562

I'm actually flying to germany Sunday from Atlanta to FRA. I am fully vaccinated and love this news, but I am still going to get a covid rapid test at cvs pharmacy on Saturday to be safe so there is no hassle. Who knows how quick Delta (or other airlines) will be to accept the CDC vaccination card

Some immigration officials may be a little cautious on vaccination documentation. A piece of paper which is easy to fake might result in questions being asked. Try to get something which is harder to be forged

My thinking also. Must be an internationally recognized doc with built in copy barrier. The countries are working on this, but will they agree on one standard? Unlikely. Best to get the test 72 before as a back up. Gives you some more peace of mind also, a good thing to have if you are going on vacation, no?

In my case, I am looking to fly IST-AMS-LIS-OPO on 2 separate reservations, which means I will be entering Schengen in the Netherlands. However, I just don't know if I will be turned away at AMS with a CDC card, and copies of my email appointments of my vaccines which corresponds to the dates on my card.

The EU hasn't even decided yet what their policy will be for citizens of non-EU countries entering Schengen
Perhaps wait a little longer for rules and policies to become clearer before booking tickets...

Portugal has said anybody going to the match has to enter and leave the country within 24 hours.

I think everyone should be vaccinated to travel and also have an antibody test to check immune response 2 or more weeks after vaccination. Inadequate immune repose, another booster until the immune response is adequate.

I am wondering if I fly to Greece which will let me in with a vaccination card then fly to Portugal from ATH, if that is allowed?
