They could, but the community needs to agree.
An early sign Burlington is ready to move on to Southern perhaps?

No they are dropping it on Dec 5 if I am correct.

Scottsbluff and North Platte are open for bidding until early November so a couple of weeks left for those 2.

1x daily to DFW + 5x weekly to BNA
In several AEAS markets they serve (CEC and TUP spring to mind), they routinely add unsubsidised flights when demand warrants. It'll be interesting to see if they do the same here.

Considering that TBN was EAS, how did Contour get away with flying DFW and BNA when the proposal was Twice Daily to BNA?
I don’t see any filings for the change. AEAS, I understand it is not necessarily, but this is EAS.

I had been searching each week for it.
Thanks for the link!
I had heard PAH had requested a split BNA/CLT but Contour had said No.

Giving 90 day notice to Kirksville. They don't really want to leave but want more money, which means they have to let everyone bid.

They would have to add another aircraft and crew to be able to add CLT. It looks like AOO is being run with inside turns from the aircraft operating OGD and PBG.
That was the speed of light by DOT standards!Still waiting for some of the comments from the OO markets 3-4 months later. I guess filing is pretty low down the priority list at DOT.
Interestingly, I heard Altoona wanted to swap PHL for CLT and Contour also allegedly said No. Although they didn't shut the door completely, but they did say it would require substantially more subsidies.

I expect Southern and Boutique to bid for MWA, Cape Air too, and Contour? I imagine Contour would go the AEAS route?
SkyWest may try to bid, as they did in 2019, but they still don’t have DOT approval for the SkyWest Charter.
MWA may just still want to go along with Cape Air anyway!

I frankly doubt it's going to make much of a difference. OO Charters is clearly not ready and with OO admitting they need to cut flying by another 20%, we all know where the axe will fall. Time to wake up and smell the roses?

What is their alternative though? Single engine turboprop service on Southern? It’s a death nell to their airports’ marketing ability. It’s obvious why these communities are holding out until the very end in hopes OO comes through.

They need to start aggressively courting Denver Air Connection. DAC is in the process of adding additional Metroliners to the fleet and could at least offer twin prop service in the interim. Post deregulation, BFF was mostly a 19 seater destination. At times, it was served by Dash 7s, EMB-120s, and B1900s with only 9 seats — but overall, 19 seats was the norm.
They’ve been spoiled with the 50-seat jet and don’t want to lose it, but it is time to realize that it isn’t sustainable and begin courting the next best thing.
