So far, yes, Frontier is the only airline to operate the A318. They seem happy with them, because they are talking about leasing more.
However, deliveries to Air France will begin in time for the plane to enter service with them in January.

What does Frontier's fleet look like now, in terms of Airbus 318/319s numbers? Of course...3 A318s now. How many more to come? Are the 733s being replaced one for one with the new Airbus? Regards.

A319: 20 in service, with 3 more at Hamburg prepping for delivery.
As to the 737's, it's a bit complicated. The A318s are replacing the 732's. I think there's one 732 still in service.
The original plan was for the A319's to replace the 733's one by one - there are 15 or 16 still in service. But that plan has changed a tad. F9 is discussing the possibility of extending the leases on "some" of the 733's, because they need the capacity for short term growth.
At the same time, F9 has ordered another A319 from GECAS and another 15 from Airbus, which will begin coming in during '04.
They also intend to lease an extra 14 A318 or A319.
There is also a provision in the new Airbus contract that Frontier must least 3 x A319 or A320 from a 3rd party lessor.
I've tried adding it all up, but my brain fries. The master plan says 68 aircraft by 2008.

I'm scheduled to fly on the new Frontier 318 tomorrow, Wednesday, on a flight from DEN to LAS FFT #781). I hope they don't change the equipment!!!

Well, that's is great to hear for you, Chgoan and those are great airplane with Airbus A318 is your first time trip, huh? I'm sure Frontier that mean will get added more Airbus A318 are into the fleet soon.

Yup...first trip on the A318....the A318 and A340 are the only Airbuses I haven't been on so far! Bring 'em on!!!!!!!

Yes they use the same on both sides.
Since their 737s are leaving, they basically can "recycle" animals used on the 737 tails onto each new A319/8

I think there are a few cases where there's a different images applied to each side of the tail, though I believe it's confined to the B733 fleet.

F9 used to have a different animal on each side of the tail to make people think they had more aircraft than they actually did. This is true, I heard it while in training.
