Hello, I was browsing the database and came across this pic:

To my knowledge AA has never used 767s to phx. Could this have been a charter or a aircraft change?

Hmmm I remember seeing AA 767s there quite a few times when I lived in PHX. Maybe they used to have regular service? Or I was just there on ALL the right days! LOL!  Big thumbs up

AA may have formerly had 767 service to PHX, but most of the recent photos were probably scheduled flights from DFW that had equipment substitutions.

i have been working PHX ramp for AWA/HP for over 2 years. i remember seeing 767-200's & 767-300's mainly in fall 2002 & winter 2003. currently, a lot of MD-80's, a few 757-200's (RB-211/old TWA?) & the occassional 737-800. i have not seen AA 767's recently @ PHX. of course, since HP handles the HA contract for ground ops, i see the HA 767-300 daily. when i leave work @ 2200, there is a UPS 767-300 that departs around the same time.

that photo you posted looks like the AA 767-300 is heading south on either active taxiway Sierra Or Tango. if you zoom in on the photo you can see our RID/FID (Ramp/Flight Information Display) screens @ gate Alpha 18 in the top left-hand corner. the bottom line shows the arriving flight number & time. the middle line displays "INR" (in-range) or "ON" (on ground). the top line displays outbound flight number & time + aircraft number. A18 can only accept A319/A320 or B737-200/300, not B757-200. nice shot by Aaron! i thought the photo was from James Covington (looks like his style).

take it easy

Thank You Derek! Good Luck with the LA Dodgers

AA will occasionally run a 767-300 into PHX for an aircraft swap. They are pretty few and far between as of recent years. Back in 1989, however, I flew on a scheduled 767-200 to ORD. Back then, they were a regular visitor to PHX as were 2-3 daily DC10s.
