Boeing posted orders valued at more than $5.8 billion for a range of single-aisle and widebody planes, marking one of the largest weeks in new airplane orders this year.
In addition to 20 of its widebody 777s, Boeing said it sold nine single-aisle 737s and three 747s. Boeing said the customers asked not to be identified.
The new orders bring Boeing's order book to 347 for the year.
This week's order for 20 twin-engine 777s is a boon to that program, which has grown in fits and bursts during recent years.
Separately, Cathay Pacific Airways said it planned to exercise purchase rights for two 777s, bringing to 18 the number of 777s the airline has ordered in the past six months.
I wonder if those are 744s or 748s?
