I agree. Something like this:

Scale that out to the right just a little bit. You made the OZ logo way too fat

One of my least favorite A380 liveries but nevertheless it's always great to add another one to the collection

While you couldn't call it "attractive", the A380 looks more proportioned in the QF colourscheme to the OZ one IMHO

Red and white also go well together making it more attractive. OZ's greyish brown isn't exactly the best looking color out there, especially when paired with another light color like white. On first glance I didn't even realize the grey/brown extended all the way forward to the nose.

Why don't we just say to each his own taste and close the "A380 is ugly" sub-thread going on right now. It's so totally subjective

I think that's it. My first thought was "why does it look so much worse than the A380 in the QF colourscheme". The basics are the same: white aircraft with a swooshy thing on the tail that extends down over the fuselage.

The difference is that QF have (a) bigger letters, (b) "Spirit of Australia" takes up some white space, (c) the kangaroo on the engines that further kills white space.

While you couldn't call it "attractive", the A380 looks more proportioned in the QF colourscheme to the OZ one IMHO

That's a good comparison and your comments are spot on, IMHO.

Thank you - someone had to say it. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It is one ugly bird though

With regard to the A380 itself, I think most observers would find it very difficult to describe it's appearance as beautiful, but its beauty in my opinion lies in what it is, what it is capable of and what it has achieved. It actually looks a bit like a quick drawing of an airliner that a child might make and I think the main factors contributing to its "ugly" appearance are its nose, its relatively short body for its size and its somewhat oversized tail. I would love to have seen it with a nose the shape of the A330/340, which I think is one of the most beautiful aircraft nose designs out there, but I guess aerodynamic factors determined this. I guess the tail has to be so big because of the relatively short body (just like the 747SP had a bigger tail than the other 747s). If a stretched A380-900 was ever produced then I think the extra length would make the whole aircraft look better proportioned....but it would still have that nose!

Maybe a set of real winglets would also help on the appearance.

Then that leaves us with the main subjective discussion of how the livery looks. Let us carry on!

Looks like they had to smush the titles down to make everything fit between the windows. I wonder if making them larger would have the same "bullet hole" effect we see on some of the new AA planes...
Good night, and keep watching the skis. Uh, skies.

I wouldn't fly it or any Asian carrier Asiana ,then Malasia airlines questions the safety of their security and airlines, maybe when things settle down it might be ok to fly,not until we know the reason why it crashed in the Ocean

How many cabin crew will OZ staff their A380s with? If they livery is dated, sure as hell their uniforms are too!

I distinctly recall after the terrible accident in SFO the flight purser standing there in full uniform, high heels and every hair in place. The rescue crews commented on how she looked like she had just stepped out of the terminal and she was seen carrying passengers off the airplane firefighter-style. They look great.

That makes about as much sense as saying "I am not going to drive because there are car accidents and it is too dangerous." These could have been any airline, anywhere in the world. Pardon my frankness but for someone interested in civil aviation that was a really silly comment to post and insulting to the good employees of Asiana and MAS.

I'm a little surprised they didn't introduce an economy-plus product on this plane, there's plenty of room behind the Biz cabin that would suit 2-3-2 cross section and I'm sure Korea has enough people willing to pay a little more for a more comfortable long-haul experience.

Oh, and I think the plane looks great!

Good point, and coupled with the slim-line seat-design in Y, this will be a comfortable economy class set of cabins.
