Hotel With Good View Of Charles De Gaulle?
I will be in France for an upcoming business trip. Does anyone know of a good hotel that has a view of Charles De Gaulle's ramp/runways/operation? I might as well mix business with pleasure!

The Pullman Hotel
Hilton CDG
Novotel CDG
IBIS
Depending on the weather there is a small grassy area next to a parking lot near the IBIS. Take the CDG-Val train to Roissypole/Terminal 3. Look for the Concorde and walk through the parking lot to the left. You look directly across to the Pullmann Hotel. No really good views of tarmac activities but lots of aircraft taxing between Terminals 1, 2 & 3. I've been told its illegal to take photos from this spot but everytime I've gone there I've never had any problems and there are often other spotters there too.
If you stay at the Hilton you can request a room on an upper floor which should give you some good views for T1 &3.

Outer windows do not open at The Sheraton.
Southwards facing rooms look into the sun, making photography even worse.
While it is located most convenient when arriving or departing, there hardly is anything around in terms of food outlets.
As convenient as it is, it also is a bit overrated.
Overall, those hotels around Roissypole are good alternatives and easy to access from the terminals using CDGVal. Also RER stops at Roissypole (for T1 and T3).

I stayed at the Ibis Terminal Hotel a couple months ago and specificially requested (via email - search for the thread I created about it for the address) a specific room with a view. I got my information from www.plane-spotting-hotels.com. And the view was good!

This is the view I had from my room at Sheraton CDG:
As HT mentioned there are not a lot of places to get some decent food around, but the location is convinient beacuse it's inside T2 and the train station is right under the hotel.
