Hello Travellers,
I'm currently doing some research for my master's thesis about airport connections and stopover tourism. The thesis will be submitted to Oulu University, Finland and the Catholic University Eichstaett-Ingolstadt, Germany.
The aim of the survey is to find out about traveller's preferences with regards to connecting airports and stopover tourism.
The moderators kindly allowed me to post a link to my survey.
You would do me a big favor by completing the survey which takes about 7 minutes (average of all contributors so far). The survey is open for all participants, no matter what your personal travel habits are and whether you usually travel domestically or internationally.
The first half of the survey focusses on connecting airports while the second part deals with stopovers (which can be either forced [necessary evil] or voluntary) where the passenger decides to leave the airport.
The survey will be available until 15 June 15 and I will publish some of the results here once I have completed the data analysis (by August).

Does a round-trip flight count as one or two "journeys" for the purpose of your survey?

I love layovers! I had an 8 hour layover in Doha in March, and was eager to join Hamad's International Airport's free city tour of Doha. But our flight from JFK left a couple hours late, and I missed the last evening departure by 45 minutes. Sadness. Maybe next time 
I love dem planes....
