Well at CHangi, Singapore Airlines has Terminal 2 and shares it with Star Alliance and some codesharing partners (eg. VN)

At LHR - Terminal 4 is British Airways, with it's partners, KLM and Air Malta

That's all I know anyway

Almost all airports are companies or own by state and that means if the airline wants to have more room/gates/lounges at the airport, it has to pay for it. Of course when you buy more, the price might come down.Anyway, the main principal is that the airport has something that the airlines want, and it is for sale.

Did I understand your question right?

As for YYZ and Air Canada......T1 and T2......is that evidence enough, they have all of the gates that they need!!!!

Runway.....if they wanted i'm sure they could have either one of the two, but.....i think A/C has too many planes to do that, maybe when the other two rwy's get built.......we will see it happen, but more or less I think A/C can push and shove down the Taxi way, get clearance faster maybe...

I think perhaps airlines with hubs get more dedicated check in facilities & faster ground staff. but they do pay for having hubs.
