TAP Air Portugal Mx
Im a a/c mechanic in Newark, I just wanted to know how much do they pay mechanics in Tap. Someone also told me that Tap mechanics do their own overhaul of their engines. Please reply. Obrigado

Hey,
I cannot answer the first question (even though I doubt it is more than what you can get in the US) but the last question is true: they do complete overhauls on CFM56s (including 737NGs, which TAP does not have) and partial work on CF6-50Cs, RB-211s, JT-3D (?? - NATO AWACS) and some other engines.
Maybe at the TAP office in Newark they can answer you?

I hate to resurrect an older topic, but... I have always been curious as to who does TAP's maintenance in EWR? Does TAP have any Tech/Ops employees stationed in EWR? And if so, do they have Materials personnel also? I referenced the TAP M&E website but only found Tech Ops in Lisbon, Oporto, Faro, Funchal, Lajes, Luanda, and Rio de Janeiro. Any light anyone could shed on this would be great.

Last time I checked, Lufthansa performed maintenance for TAP in EWR, but that was a few years ago, im not sure if its still that way.
