What is the maximum number of flying hours and on-duty time can US pilots fly in one day? I mean this specifically in terms of domestic flying.
Presumably it depends on the time of day they start.
Can you provide a link to an official source?

That is only for 121 passenger airlines. 121 cargo airlines still use the old rules. 16 hours of duty and 8 hours of flying for an unaugmented crew regardless of the time they started at.

Don't forget those awesome International rules! No more than 12 hours flight in a 24 hour period for a 3 crew airplane. Remember, freight pilots aren't as important as passenger pilots and time awake prior to duty is never factored in.

US Military pilots routinely have a maximum flight duty period of 16 hours, crew duty day of 18 hours for an unaugmented crew. Depending on the type, unaugmented consists of two pilots.
An augmented flight duty period is 24 hours, flight duty day of 24 hours, 45 minutes. Again, depending on type, an augmented crew consists of 3 pilots.
