Lax Heli Photo Best Lens To Use

Hello, I am planning a spotting trip to LAX in Sept. I would like to spend a couple of hours shooting from one of the Star Helicopters. What is the best lens to use. Currently I am using a Nikon D7100 with an 18-300 mm 3.8-5.6 zoom lens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A 300mm lens should be sufficient. Provided your D7100 has a 1.5x crop factor (which makes the 300mm a 450mm), you should be able to get some great shots. Happy shooting!

I used a 70-300 L and photos generally came out great on the ground but were hit or miss for air to air. If I went up again I probably would turn off image stabilization and shoot 1/1600 or faster.
