Yes I did tip. Not sure if it was cool or not but it is a great service that I really enjoyed. I love my job in the aviation industry as it takes me to all Continents. I think we are probably in the same field.

Not to mention the canteen at FRA which LH passes off as a lounge. Hahahaha...

Great trip report!! I always find it a pleasure to read a trip report from you, I love the way it's build up.

As you say indeed, First Class is suppose to be a memorable expercience. It defenitly looked like TG has succeeded this norm.

= Too kind. Thanks you so much.

Hi Alex,

Another excellent report, thanks for sharing the experience on TG!

What a wonderful experience! I definitely wouldn't mind flying F on TG.. The pre-flight service looks outstanding.
The product (bar the IFE) looks amaing and the food superb.. What a huge portion of caviar!

Such flights make me so jealous!

I've got one TR up my sleeve.. It should be out later today.

Cheers,
Nicholas

Many thanks for the 5 stars trip report. First class is always First class!!

We could just hope that TG will bring out new first class suite shortly.
At least those govenors and TG managerial people love the suite after they get on the leased Jet's 77W.
Am sure they would want to fly on it other routes too!

Hope you are having fun in Bangkok!
Let's just blame it on yields.

Thanks again for this very nice TR, TG Royal Class, even on a 20-yr old 744, looks way above the average Premium product, really.

One more thing which is worth to be noted:

Quoting abrelosojos (Thread starter):
VI> Other Trip Reports:

PREMIUM:
9.27: Thai Airways ** FIRST ** (108): JFK-LHR: 07/2010
A new number 1 across all categories – “beats” AI’s YCL review of 9.26
8.66: Brussels Airlines (93): FIH-BRU: 01/2010

Unsurprisingly, TG F beats SN J, given the Class gap

However, the really surprising thing is that in spite of that Class gap, the gap isnt' that big (0.61, i.e. the same as the gap between Brussels Airlines (93): FIH-BRU: 01/2010 and Air India (80): CCU-JFK: 06/2009), especially as your CCU-JFK seemed very much enjoyable overall.

All the more surprising as SN J class hard product isn't that luxurious and is a bit dated (looks good and comfy, nothing more).

Shall we infer that the SN J soft product was *really* outstanding and a world above the crowd of Longhaul J products of European carriers?

As some of you are aware, I had temporarily located to our Bangkok office for 3 months to build some client relationships.

What exactly is it that you do to earn a living (feel free to not answer)?

Quoting abrelosojos (Thread starter):
The lady asked me to relax and that she would be back after having done with the formalities. Soon, I was joined in the area by some high ranking Thai general and later by Miss Universe 1988 from Thailand. The entire area felt extremely exclusive and suddenly I began to wonder how I put up with J class all these years.

Excellent, sounds fantastic!

Quoting abrelosojos (Thread starter):

Basically a group of crew who went out of the way to make me feel at home and make the flight a truly memorable one. Just pure awesome and service from the heart.

Love a crew like that, sounds like TG F is up there with the best still even if their hardware is not quite up to scratch.

Another awesome report from one of the best TR writers on this website. If only I could write with such humour and interest in my reports.

Cheers again,
Pete

Thanks again for report. Parents have just returned to UK on Thai LHR-BKK-SYD-BKK-(LH)FRA-LHR and pleased that their experience echoed yours. Practically flawless.

Now it's my turn.. I'm yet to try them in F.

Thank you for this accurate and detailed report. I have flown TG "F" several times in the last year covering sectors: SYD-BKK, BKK-LHR, CDG-BKK, MAD-BKK, and BKK-SYD, and the service, food, etc. was as you describe: faultless. I also fly BA "F", QF "F" and SQ "F", but TG beats the others hands down.

Hey Alex!

Thank you for this outstanding report, you have once again made me "Open My Eyes"

After having read your UA F report, your experiences in TG of gave a perfect example on how International First Class should be, i.e in every single aspect!

The Lounge seemed great. Food looked nice, the restaurant-ish menu was a nice touch, as if it was taken straight from a Thai Fastfood joint. It seemed a lot more down to earth, than those Michellin-type menus you'd normally find in an F Lounge.

The Massage service sounded excellent to me, and those girls looked gorgeous. Too bad you didn't opt for the happy ending

TG's F seat might not be of the newest kind, but it sure looks great. Headphones however seemed a bit shabby, too bad they didn't have Bose.

Thanks for sharing!
