Wow, great shot, but what amazes me is how an airport that looks like it has 4 passenger terminals only has one runway

Very nice! This photo shows greatly how this magnificant airfield is clamped tightly in the city.

I'm surprised to know that there's only one runway at such a big airport as KSAN.

A wonderfully detailed and excellent overview of SAN, sorry Bertil but the watermark really cheapens the photo and detracts from the overall quality!

The steep approach is kind of hairy here -- just like the steep climb for the sister airport (SNA) a little north. At the time they designed this -- this was just a base for the Convair company, just like Long Beach was a base for MDD.

What a picture, and a long runway threshold. T.B.

The perfect combination of planes to the right and boats to the left

I can't believe it, the runway threshold it very long!
I would think twice if I were on command of a B747, or even a B777
The picture is terrific, very impresive, and the city looks even better.
Greetings from Mexico!

Not only does SAN have only 1 runway, but also there's no parking garage on site- just 2 open lots! This is an amazing airport and this photo captures the beauty of this packed-in field.

Great shot - 5 stars! And we see the Harbor Island, and Sheraton Hotel, where I've been staying during my convention trips.

I am pretty sure SAN is the busiest single runway airport in North America.

Great shot.

Since this shot was taken, about 90% of the buildings east of the commuter terminal have been demolished and the westernmost terminal is being given an addition.

What a beautiful shot Betrtil, Congratulations. I've landed here, taken off here and taken shots from the official viewing area which can also be seen in this shot, but this is the best SAN shot I have seen yet, perfectly captured and 5* from me. SAN is my dream home! - Jason W
