Joining crosswind for RWY21 at Wickenby after a flight from Elvington. RAF Wickenby was a purpose built bomber base constructed late 1942 and it lives on as a popular GA airfield with the former control tower now forming a museum and clubhouse. The current (quite short) runways are portions of the old runways, the rest of which have been dug up and returned to agricultural land.
