On January 16, 2013 the FAA issued an emergency airworthiness directive ordering all U.S. based airlines to ground their Boeing 787s (United Airlines was the only U.S. airline operating the type at that time) until the electrical system was modified to reduce the risk of the battery overheating or catching fire. A day later, on January 17th, Air India decided to ground its 787s in view of the FAA directive. Naturally, we were surprised to see this bird being ferried to BOM for checks two days later!
