This is a scane that will never be repeated. None of these fleet types fly anymore for their respective airlines. Who know these two airlines would one day become one?

Is that an old school RVR out there between RWY 4L and 4R? Nice view of those AA aircraft!

Four types of jetliners at Logan: three from American (B-707, B.727 and DC-10 with the classic silver metal that is still in use today) and a B-747 from TWA. The lake on the background makes this picture even better.

I joined American Airlines in 1977. In those days, 707s, DC10s and 727s were the back bone of our fleet. At that time AA did not have routes to Europe and I would fly TWA 747s mostly from LAX to LHR and back frequentely. The TWA flight numbers were 760 to LHR and 761 back to lax. At some point the UK bond flight started at SFO later with a change of gage at LAX. It would even extend to CDG from LHR and would do the same thing in reverse. This photograph brings back some found memories of a better days. A time when we were hopeful about the futur. A time before deregulation.
