Reports say the tail struck the runway during the takeoff roll.

Anyone know what happened to the crew/passengers? Hopefully all aboard survived!!

Md-11 #7 to be gone. such a beautiful airplane. although some crew survived, RIP to those that lost their lives in that tragic event.

On 28 November 2009, an Avient Aviation McDonnell Douglas MD-11F, registration Z-BAV (c/n 48408), crashed on take-off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on a flight to Bishkek-Manas International Airport, Kyrgyzstan with the loss of 3 lives. The plane was written-off. Avient took delivery of Z-BAV on 20th November 2009.

It took only 8 days from delivery to total loss. Very unfortunate indeed. This incident will surely bring down MD11's resale value as its spotty safety records is becoming more and more apparent.

This aircraft was wearing a beautiful livery. Sadly lost in an accident. My sentiments to the loved ones of the dead and I hope the injured will have a total recovery.

7 crew on board. Three killed on impact (USA), one critically injured but recovering steadily (USA), Three injured slightly (British, Indonesian and French).
