It was 1998 before I flew in Concorde, and this was the one that took me LHR-BGI that January. With this aircraft, more than any other, I got a special sense of the souls of the engineers and designers that created such a beautiful and versatile aircraft. Such a deceptively simple wing that could supercruise at 1362 knots (Mach 2.06 @60k) on our first trip) and land us at 180 knots using vortex lift. Some great minds worked to create this aircraft, which is why it is still ahead of its time even as it languishes in museums.
