The official handover ceremony of British Airways first Concorde following its delivery from Filton the previous day. The location is North Bay, Technical Block B at the BA engineering base. This aircraft operated British Airways first commercial Concorde service six days later to Bahrain in the hands of Captain Norman Todd, Captain Brian Calvert and Senior Flight Engineer John Lidiard.

I love this picture! For one, the composition is nice, including the depth of field - I like how the nose of the aircraft and the journalists in the foreground are the most in focus. Second, I love the sense of joy and optimism in the picture (combined with the tedium of these sorts of official events), everyone there unaware of how supersonic transport would turn out or meet its tragic end.
