Caption
Kugaaruk is an arctic hamlet just off the Gulf of Boothia. Kugaaruk is Inkutitut for 'little stream', which passes through the hamlet. Seen here is a ATR about of spin up engine #2 for departure to Yellowknife. The town in early January sees 24 hours of darkness, with no sunrise. The temperature during this photograph was -25C.

Hahaha ! Yes! Canadian North flies them all over the Arctic. Then you have Summit Air, Calm Air and North Star bringing them that far too.
