Just flaring on runway 06 in the evening sun - look at that upward elevator deflection!

Wow! This is the Anet definition of "rare!"

New to me that the Cubans have been operating the nose heavy British design, and across the pond.

Amazing action shot. Best shot in airliners.net IMHO :-)

Only now I am realizing the strong resemblance between the design of the Bristol 175 and that of Ilyushin Il-18 (former flew in 1952, latter in 1957). Excellent historic shot from which I learned something new!

Thanks for the memory Bill - I was at the far end of the runway that day. A stunning memory of the "glory days" at EINN.

I had no idea that Cubana operated the Britannia. Lovely shot, many thanks.

Thanks for the memories Bill. A timeless shot of a classic that made me dream of enjoying a fine cigar and a "Papa Special" at the end of 06!

I second the previous comment that the Bristol 175 resembles the Ilyushin II18. This Bristol looks like a Sovjet design, something with the cockpit windows. Even though the Bristol probably was the "inspiration" to what resulted in the II18.
