Sweet pic bringing back good memories, although I dont remember seeing any DL Tristars in ORY.
Nice to see all these 1980's familiar sights: the yellow AdP logo on the trucks, the old buses parked on the top left (which was the type used in Paris streets as well), the tricolor Air Libert

Great photo! I had the pleasure of going on a test flight on 741 in 1996 and it is an experience I will never forget!! Long live the L-1011!

Fabulous photo of a fabulous plane; I loved the "Tri Stars" all except for one thing; on the DC-10/MD-11, the entire vertical stab/rudder assy.(and all hydraulics to them) are directly above that big No.2 engine; if it "blows up", goodbye flight controls !
I was at Sioux City, Iowa when the United DC-10 made the emergency landing due to this happening. Many perished; You don't ever want to see an airliner crash.
The L-1011 on the other hand, has the engine much farther forward, so I assume the hydraulics are not "at risk" from this happening. Probably the best airliner ever built that "didn't make it" as to acceptance by carriers. But a fine A/C none the less.
So yes, definitely, "Long live the Lockheed L-1011!"

I had the pleasure to fly with a Delta 1011 back from JFK to FRA in 1994 and this picture brings back all the memories!

Wow! I do certainly remember that I saw L1011 came in FLL everyday. I always watch the L1011. I would appreciated it for flying on L1011. I knows L1011 is long gone forever. She will never fly again. I am very sad to see L1011 go.
