The end of an era! Delta’s last scheduled DC-9 flight arrives in MSP from DTW as flight DL1965 and will later depart to ATL as flight DL2014. Flight numbers 1965-2014 were chosen to represent the years the DC-9 was in service with the airline. N773NC was originally delivered in October 1978 to North Central, which later became Republic, Northwest, and finally Delta. Many thanks goes out everyone at Delta for putting on a great show to retire this old lady.

It's a sad day that the mighty "9" is being retired, but it sure had a good run! I'll miss them that's for sure!

Thank you for the picture. I'm going to miss these birds! Too bad the bitter cold kept them from giving the plane a proper water cannon salute for its final flight
