Aviation Photo #1654931 McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 - Delta Air Lines

This MD-90 shows off her raw power on a 5,700 foot runway. Two IAE V2500 engines produce a total of 56,000 pounds of thrust to rocket this aircraft skyward. Also note the atmospheric effect under the left wing which distorts the American titles in the background. It looks like the air was cut with a knife.

Impressive. The MD-90 has gotten a bad rap, but it is -in my opinion- and improved MD-80 and family. When you fly one you do indeed feel the thrust of those engines, you do feel it more powerful than others rocketing the plane upward. Great Shot!

Interesting on many levels. I especially love the optic effect under the port wing. Also, the colors make it look like it's 90 degrees early in the day.
