Is it normal to have the nose gear doors open just before landing? Or would it be part of a test flight?

Not sure about the livery, rather messy if you ask me. Great catch, though!

I usually see the nose gear door open but I usually only see 787's performing test flights. A quick search through the database shows 787's that are in regular service usually have the door closed. Let me dig up some info to see what I can find.

Main gear doors are open as well.

And the RAT is deployed. Most certainly a test flight.

Yes this is a test flight. The RAT is deployed 100 percent of the time during test flights. It's exceptionally loud.

The gear door are still open because the manually deployed the gear and there is no sequencing for the to close. As stated it is part of the test flight profile.

Nice catch. The livery looks a bit weird, like if someone did a selective edit and desaturated parts, which is not the case. It is nowhere near the iconic Formula 1 A346.

The livery has definitely grown on me over the past week and a half but the first time I saw it I was scratching my head a bit too.

Sure. Maybe it'll grow on me when I see it in reality, too. Nice shot anyway.

Agree with you JK, nowhere near the stunning A346. Still eye-catching though...
