This really shows how amazing the FedEx operation is...from the Cessna Caravans through the MD-11's it is awe inspiring to say the least!!! This must be what the MD-11 looks like before raining engine cowls on the people below!

Great shot, it looks a little chaotic - but that's what aviation is all about.
Unfortunately the Trijets are getting rare - good FX is going to fly them for ages to come.

That would be the airport in Memphis which is its hub. Everynight planes fly in, unload, the packages get sorted then they are reloaded on the planes that fly out in the morning.

What is even more crazy is, this is just a drop in the bucket for the FedEx fleet. There are more FedEx jets all across the world. Still a very cool picture indeed. Would've been great to have a brown or yellow tail in there;)

I worked at the MEM hub for several years. It is truly awe inspiring. More than 4 million packages over about 8 hours. At xmas, it climbs to around 7. The passenger terminal is just to the south, but has not even close to the presence of Fed.

Memphis International used to be a great place to watch FedEx arrive and depart however, they airport built a large concrete fence around where this shot was taken.
Also, I can't get within two miles of the airport due to the gun slingin'TSA cops telling me to leave.

While there has been a wall erected on the west side of the airport this shot was taken from there. This shot was taken from atop hangar 12 on the east side of the airport.

Amazing daytime shot. I got to see it at night a few years ago, watched plane after plane land and unload the cargo. Went through the sort facility, which is astounding. Too tired to stay around for the departures, tho.

Note: Underneath where it says " express " under the big letters " FEDEX ", they forgot the " Federal ". LOL

They no longer have federal in the name, planes that say federal express instead of just express have not been repainted. Look at the new 777Fs and any newer plane, they only say express.
