How phenomenal can an air-to-air photoflight become, when you get a chance to take a picture like this ?? This was our first photomission after the Air-to-Air Academy and it took us into German airspace where we could meet some of the most beautifull heavy metal still around! The Luftwaffe “Rhino's” made several passes under the Skyvan photoship, with a break and this result for the final pass....whoohooow ;)

Usually I like pictures when the background is a bit more blurry, but in this case the green fields fit perfectly.
Besides, the angle is at least very interesting.
I hope you are going to send a copy to the Air Force base?

I am an old Phantom-Phixer. This picture reminded me of the first time I saw one of our birds up on jacks in the hangar. I was amazed by how long the struts were when fully extended. Some time later I made my first trip out to the approach end of the runway to watch them land...I learned first-hand why the F-4 needed so much landing gear. Putting one of these down on the runway looked brutal but was amazing to watch.

Wow... Absolutely one of the best aircraft photos I've ever seen. Love the exhaust, the Rhino, the turn, the gear, the light, the background, the action -- everything.

Simply spectacular to see this kick-ass machine so close, with everything hanging out. The only thing missing is the noise :D!!!

The extended undercarriage provide the necessary contrast with the ground, something seldom seen from an air to air shot.

I really love this picture! This is how i remembered this plane, as a young kid visited Twente airbase so many times and there they came a lot. Standing in the fields and being so f*cking happy to see these birds take the runway full power on (total blackness behind them - co2???? never heard of it).
